I think you missed a major plot point of Persona 5. The idea at play is that of the picaresque novel, which is one in which a roguish outsider survives in a corrupt society. Every adult you meet except for those you form social links with (and Lala, who is just great and should have been the actual social link over

I find the “Microsoft is just a poor little company. There’s nothing wrong with the merger” talk so, so weird.

I kinda feel the opposite. s4 has been great, but a little too safe for me - I wanted the show to get even wilder in its last season but instead it’s regressed back to s1 a bit, complete with a BAN sequel and all. plus Snipe Hunt and Alfred’s World were the only times it really hit emotionally as the best of this show

I think that is literally it. As a streamer he has a interest in playing to generate entertaining/interesting content, like him stomping pubbies, which is in direct conflict with other players who are trying to play a game against relatively equally skilled opponents.

Probably 1:1 if the pre-Elden Ring Soulsborne community is anything to go by. There’s a sense of achievement and entitlement that goes into bragging that you accomplished something someone else didn’t, and it goes away when other people get that same feeling.

This is hilarious. I love that he can’t even not stream it at all, he’ll still do it but only for a day.

What do you think the overlap in the Venn diagram is between video game players that talk about how difficult games shouldn’t have easy modes (and probably use cheese strata to get through said difficult games) and players complaining about skill based matchmaking that reveals they aren’t as good as they think.

Yeah, this one’s definitely on Taylor. She, intentionally or not, led everyone to believe that Platinum/Nintendo were only paying her $4K for all voice work of the main character. According to her latest comments, she got paid 3000£ for the first game, so $15k is actually a nice improvement, I think (even accounting

This is just so messy. She was definitely unclear, she made it sound like the 4000 were for all sessions as the main character (I double checked, assuming she had been misunderstood, but no, she definitely made it sound like that), and AFAIK didn’t mention the 10000 - 15000 value. This makes it clearer and actually

Upper Level Capitalism in a nutshell, bay-bee!

The mines I built were more an exercise in what could I generate than what I needed to generate.”

So let me get this straight, when Master Chief twerks with Megan Thee Stallion it’s one of the greatest moments at TwitchCon, but when She-Hulk does it, it’s the lowest point in the MCU. Did I get that right?

Gonna be honest, I have yet to scratch a DVD or lose a disc, and I've definitely sat down to watch multiple movies on Netflix only to find that they've migrated to other services (or paid to rent movies on Amazon only for them to appear on subscription a few weeks later). Streaming is unreliable, in short.

The movie’s not perfect, but it was literally breathtaking for me since, for the first time since Empire Strikes Back, I had no idea where any individual scene or the overall movie was going. After decades of predictable storytelling, Johnson flipped over the table and did new and exciting stuff.

It’s imperfect, but by FAR the best of the Sequel Trilogy. It was unexpected, beautiful, frustrating, thrilling, and, you know, we’re still talking about it. When was the last time anyone mentioned Rise of the Skywalker or whatever the fuck?

I wonder if he feels the same way about fight choreographers? If some other guy is swinging a sword at his head (even a fake movie one) would to prefer that it was a spontaneous thing or would he like it planned in advance with everyone aware of what is happening?

They keep it up and I’m gone.

Who remembers when the AV Club ran a weekly crossword puzzle? That’s how long I’ve been a regular visitor here. After all the great writers and features that have gone, and all the full-screen pop-up ads and everything else awful that’s been added, these 30-second videos (that, by the way, I’m not going to watch and

Sorry, but Netflix is the only streaming service still clinging to the binge model. And even they split Stranger Things in two. Because whole-season releases kill hype. Shows do better when released slowly.

Why the fuck would this be a slideshow. Fuck off.
