Probably because the Destiny diehards are crazy enough to consider option #3 above, pay twice for the game and the DLC, and progress all the way through the different levels on both platforms.

Wait, they were so dedicated to staying in character that Arya threatened to cut Sansa’s face off while they were the only people in the room, but they somehow weren’t concerned about meeting up with Bran (off-camera) to discuss Littlefinger’s past directly? How would they even communicate that they were working

That’s probably exactly why it didn’t get made. This would have been a cool, ambitious 3rd episode, but once so much time had gone by that it needed to be Half Life 3, expectations were different. HL1 and 2 are two of the most revolutionary shooters in history. Anything less would be a disappointment to fans.

It just

I loved the set-up for the third episode, but thought that they really squandered it. There were so many places they could have taken that story that would have been more interesting than what they went with.

Each episode seems like it has something worthwhile (a cool premise, or a good twist), but none of them have

Era Vulgaris is one of my favorite QOTSA albums, and I can’t imagine considering it a “disappointment by every metric.”

At least GJI originally usually had SOMETHING to do with TV/movies/games/pop culture. Now it’s literally just cute internet things complete with text-over-image headers with titles like “TODDLER TAKEOVER.”

There are plenty of sites for that kind of thing. AV Club used to specialize in thoughtful critiques, and with the

“Just stay off the internet completely if you don’t want to know what happens on future episodes of Game of Thrones” seems like a pretty radical suggestion in 2017.

I still think this argument is bogus. It’s not that shock and surprise are the only way to enjoy an episode; a good story is a good story, regardless, and depending on shock over well-seeded drama and catharsis is a recipe for disaster. But shock and surprise ARE powerful tools in a storyteller’s arsenal, and to just

This whole method seems to be busted for me. I already had this Kinja account, logged in, clicked to redeem my AV Club account, and it popped up with a message asking for my username/display name. I entered this one, and it told me it was already in use. So I created a new one instead, and the whole thing just closed

Wasn’t 3 the one with the initially wonky aiming? I think they left 2's gameplay alone in the collection.

Right. The idea was they would ship it on release day, and it would show up 2 days later. Although mine’s arriving today after all, so maybe they were just hedging their bets.

I’m hoping that they’ve been working on this game piece-by-piece, and they’re still doing the models and animations. The lighting and environments look great, which makes the other stuff stand out even more.

Ordered this, but it’s worth noting that there’s no release day shipping on this, so if you take their deal and want free shipping, you won’t get it until the 24th.

Yeah, but I could see it working if the different projects were more divorced from each other. Wizard and Glass can stand on its own, and while the series would be slightly dependent on the movie, it would be different enough to stand on its own legs.

That's why the original 3-movies-2-TV-seasons plan made some sense. You could do The Gunslinger as a stand-alone fairly cheaply and easily, and then do the continuing adventures with Eddie, Susannah, and Jake as a TV series (and probably cut down on all the crazy meta-stuff with Stephen King). Wizard and Glass would

I think there's been a cultural shift in the last decade as to what we consider to be funny. WHAS always had its fans, but it was critically lambasted when it came out, because as a parody movie, it doesn't really work. The internet has cultivated an environment where the "language" of alt-comedy and absurdist humor

Yeah, that's E3.

"I saw when you fed Ramsay to his own dogs a few weeks ago. That was bitchin'."

He learned exposition from the school of Lost.

On the other hand, it worked in King of Kong!
