I think in particular the later Ren & Stimpy revival. Without the rest of the people involved in the show Kricfalusi’s schtick isn’t all that funny, and is notably creepy.

I’m going to take a wild guess here and say that I can’t be the only person that’s watched a fair amount of Ren & Stimpy or John Kricfalusi’s other creations and find it not surprising at all that he engages in horrible behavior.

It’s clear from the trailer that the folks who worked on Ren & Stimpy have great respect for the show and how it’s influenced the world of animation, but that it’s hard to rectify that with the knowledge that the person who created it was responsible for so much pain and suffering.
