Wawa really is good, miles better than 7-11. I moved from NY to Northern NJ about 6 years ago, at the same time Wawa was expanding to the area. Wawa has probably single-handedly caused me to gain 20 lbs. The other 30 lbs are on me.

Few people seem to remember that Wayne Root got his start as a fraudulent (is there any other kind?) sports-betting tout on cable TV in the 1980s.
1987 was a severe outlier in terms of HR, way more than any year until at least 1993. And that SO increase is enormous. I can’t stand Gossage but the game really has changed a ton since his career. and IMO not entirely for the better. But I’m old.
I thought it was the Giants and Geno Smith?
From what I gather, Dundalk is Baltimore’s Staten Island?
Wait, 7-8-1 is non-losing now?
His feud with Larry Johnson was really dumb.
Starring this mostly to get the number up to 69.
While I wasn't personally offended by the language of course, it was pretty mind-boggling that NBC let it go on after the first one or two.
Harsh, but fair.
Please don’t read this as a defense of Keri for this, but he never came across that way to me. Might you be confusing him with former Baseball Prospectus colleague Keith Law?
I’ve said this before but the best decision I’ve ever made as a sports fan was giving up on this team. Second best? Doing the same for the Jets.
Luckily for Albert, this guy’s on the case:
He’d cancel it rather than get embarrassed by a low turnout.
Strikeouts are up even more than homers. Last thing we need is even more.
Great work as always, David. But I’m surprised you didn’t mention that Piazza didn’t merely answer a reporter’s question about being gay. The team, in its usual wisdom, arranged a press conference for him to address the subject. As someone far removed from the Page Six world in 2002, it honestly had never occurred to…
I’m 45, and a native New Yorker. No NBA or college team from the area has won a championship in my lifetime. Please stop telling me how we’re the center of the basketball universe. It’s embarrassing.
I still can’t believe that Seth Meyers, who I like a lot, had this jerk on his show.
Was even one fan cheering for a home team win?
An underrated lower seed are American sportswriters who, when writing about soccer (excuse me, football) use the British style (France are good). Of course that doesn’t apply to anybody here.
