RIP Bump Bailey

As a Mets fan the only thing I can hold over Yankees fans right now is that our play-by-play guy, Gary Cohen, is better than Kay by roughly the same margin that Aaron Judge has over Tim Tebow as a hitter.

In 1991, I was a college freshman and watched Blair Thomas’s career highlight, a fumble in Chicago on MNF in a game where the Jets would’ve had a 99.9% chance to win if they’d simply run a kneeldown play, with my loser roommate, a Bears fan. We never really hit it off before that game but after that we barely spoke

Translation: “Yes, this happened”

My two cats play-fight a lot, but every single time I grab my phone to grab a video, they immediately stop.

I think this kind of threat is more empty in baseball than in other sports. Only one MLB team has relocated in the last 40 years, and that case (Montreal to Washington) took years to come to fruition. The fact that there are virtually no stadiums in non-MLB markets in North America suitable for hosting a team even

That’s exactly what I’m hoping for!

Great article, David.

I’ve seen exactly one in the NYC area. And that guy yelled at me when I got within 36 inches of his car when I was behind him at a red light.

Emery’s the guy who turned his back to the American flag for the anthem during the gulf war, right? He got some grief for that but history will judge him well.  RIP.

Wherever you go next, I hope you continue to watch ever TV channel on earth so you can keep grabbing these.

Danny Heep & Terry Blocker collided, giving Terry Pendleton (who became a Mets killer 2 years later) an inside-the-park grand slam. Blocker left the game and never again played for New York.

Yet somehow the new swing justice since he’s slightly to the left of Roberts.

The suffixes on jerseys fad really makes no sense. The only time it ever should have been allowed was for Ken Griffey & Tim Raines. Putting “MD” there is silly but not any dumber than guys putting “Jr.” just because they have the same name as their (completely anonymous) father.

I’m sure there will be a job waiting for him in the White House.

Is Falwell inside?

In all seriousness, it’s hard to think of a worse place for Harvey to have landed. Maybe Colorado?

Seriously that’s weird that an executive would be texting writers about the mental makeup of an end-of-bench guy on another team. Why would Rodney Hood have been on anybody’s mind before the playoffs started?

Disappointed in Mike Tyson’s absence here.

Probably stating the obvious, but I’m sure the concern of everybody quoted is far more about how an on-field death would affect the NFL’s bottom line than about Hurst personally.
