Strangely, neither fans nor protestors were present at the local WNBA game.

That used to happen in the “old days.” It hasn’t happened for quite a while though.
Hahaha.
Jesus christ, you’re really going for it with this post. This is incredible. You make it sound in the headline like they’re just chanting it for no reason, because you know “singing along to a song” makes it sound much less bad. Then, when we’re primed to feel bad, you post the sad, desperate text messages of some…
People don’t own words, that’s just not how it works.
This is “hating on black people?” They’re just singing along to a song.
It’s pretty stupid to sing this. It’s pretty stupid to record it and post it online. But as stupid as these kids were, I find it hard to believe that they’re malicious. I’ve never heard this song before, because I’ve crossed into Old Man territory, but these are, in fact, lyrics in the song. That doesn’t excuse it,…
This isn’t really hating on black people at all. It’s a group of girls having fun singing along to a popular song.
As someone who attends multiple academic, policy, and industry conferences each year, I never expect off-the-record anything. The event organizers always record everything, you’re always in public, and your counterparts are not obliged to obey rules that are not explicitly stated.
That’s ridiculous. Journalism uses specific language. “Safe space”, isn’t a phrase that people even remotely define with any consistency. The words, “off the record” are the words that are employed when a conversation is meant to be off the record. There’s no ambiguity.
I obviously dont know the atmosphere of the room but to me phones down doesnt mean off the record, in this day and age it could just mean we want you to be present and in the moment. Similarly, safe space could also be interpreted as feel free to talk as you please but again does not mean off the record. This is what…
“But I thought that plan was stupid, and went and got Jimmy G.”
That’s why they call him the LeBron James of hockey.
No, just delete it. You will notice a significant quality of life boost almost immediately. Your interactions with the people you care about will be less frequent but more enjoyable. You will argue less with people you don’t know. You will feel less compulsion to check your devices every couple of minutes. You will…

Maybe the players were paid, they just forgot?
I have a friend who makes a lot more money than I do, and he’s always happy to get the check, but I pick up my share at normal restaurants, and then some. If he wants to invite me to an extra fancy dinner, then I let him pay it and show my appreciation, but he would never suggest an expensive place then ask to split,…
Wrong.
That Soundwave. Goddamn that’s awesome.
