You mention that Paul Dini was a writer, but ignore how a show gets written. Don't get me wrong Dini is a phenomenal writer in TV, comics, and video games (he wrote the first two Arkham games and the Harley parts for Origins and the upcoming Knight). But a writer for a TV show doesn't work alone. The writers,

Very interesting. I can't wait to see who they get to replace her.

No cape, no Batman.

No, you should feel stupid for not being able to follow a standard progression in a basic conversation, like an adult would.

So, what you're saying is, I should feel stupid because I gave you the benefit of the doubt that you weren't straying off-topic. What a world.

Pedant alert: Constantine is not a superhero. He doesn't have a costume or a secret identity, and could only loosely be considered to have superpowers.

Yes, I am assuming that when people hit the "reply" button on a comment, they are replying to that comment. Guilty as charged.

I think he believes Timm ran over his dog or something. He went off on me for giving Timm too much credit, and I never mentioned him. Crazy fanboys....

I don't understand why people are responding to a comment thread, the basis of which is asking "why do people like Bruce Timm so much?" and then they think I'm the one jumping to conclusions when I presume their comments are about Bruce Timm. If the comment about that technique wasn't meant to give Timm credit, then

Feel free to show me where I said that the show was all and only about and by Timm.

he didn't write the site but he was a showrunner (had input on the animation, the theme, tone, creative direction, etcetera).

The designs, yes. But not the technique .

It was the original couple of seasons of B:TAS that blew my mind. Starting the art process with black background and then adding color and 'light' to it made the texture so amazing, and then balancing the character angularity against the art deco round monolith look of Gotham...it was unlike anything we'd seen in ever.

It's okay, I do it for free. No approval necessary.

But if people who don't buy variant covers anyway don't buy that variant cover, it won't really send them any message.

Yeah, this drove me insane. Yes, Spider-Man and Spider-Woman both have butts. Yes, both those butts are located near the tops of their respective covers. No, this doesn't mean even slightly that they are in the same position.

It's simplified lines and shapes leave room for more complex nuances that a more "straightforward" approach seems to miss entirely or do very awkwardly.

The whole thing was one of the most enjoyable science fiction action movies I've seen in a long time—I actually think it's better than Guardians of the Galaxy.

Yeah, I did get that impression, but it really just makes me more confused. If what everybody loves about Timm shows are the quality of the writing and the characterization, then why are so many other cartoons aping his angular style?
