So if you ever find yourself questioning a poor person with a cellphone, or a lady on food stamps still getting her hair done — also a criticism lobbed at Katrina Gilbert, a poor single mother in Chattanooga who did all the right things and still struggled to get by — then consider that perhaps the person with the

Yeah, that is exactly what it's like. Or maybe even better than Uncle Ben, the adventures of Peter's secret agent parents.

A show that covered what a cesspool is Gotham would have been interesting. There's plenty of cop dramas on tv, but few deal with themes like police corruption or take place in cities that are utterly dominated by organized crime. Fox could've made a show detailing the struggle of a rookie cop between staying honest or

Pre-Batman Gotham would have been an interesting story, especially since there's a bunch of interesting villains they could have thrown in without dipping into Batman's primary rogues gallery. Plus, most of Batman's main villains are defined by Batman, so they wouldn't really work without Batman.

Its based on Batman. What person WOULDN'T watch it first to see if its any good?

I love how everyone shits on this before they've even seen it. "I cant get excited for it..." *wanking motion* Watch it first, THEN bitch about it.

"Man of Steel" did a great job of giving his suit meaning and purpose. When he wears it, he represents his native culture.

I wonder what would have happened if the same showrunners and writers had just decided to make an original police drama, maybe with some unique twist or ongoing arc, instead of this desperate, straining cash-grab. It may be that this does end up having its own artistic merit and real quality in some respects, but

Now that's a kid that is so upset he's going to spend the rest of his life fighting crime while dressed as a giant bat.

People aren't pissed off because they enjoy simply being pissed off, they're mad because this looks to be another opportunity squandered.

I thought he did a good job in Superman Returns. That movie's problems had nothing to do with the actors not named Kate Bosworth.

There's absolutely no way that Teryl Rothery's Jean Loring went to college at the same time as Laurel and Ollie, unless she got her law degree when she was 40. They'll probably just do a double-back like they've done with a bunch of other stuff on the show. "Actually, the Jean Loring who's dating Ray Palmer is the

They've already cast Teryl Rothery as Jean Loring, so Brandon Routh seems a little young for that pairing - but could be Ray Palmer is just into older women. Goodness knows Teryl Rothery is still pretty attractive!

Hey, I can only speak for myself, but I just don't see how people would draw any value from saying to themselves, "Boy, I really hope I don't end up being entertained by this! Of course, I'm gonna stand in line for two hours to see it on opening night anyway, because it's such a huge event, but boy is it gonna be a

That "sad batman" looks more like batman than any live action batman to date. I think he looks more brooding or lost in thought—you know, like batman should be—but saying the sky is falling from that one shot is baseless.

If I end up being wrong, and Zack Fucking Snyder shocks us and pulls out an Avengers-quality adaptation? I'll happily eat crow.

Thank you for saying so. It's encouraging to hear that other people feel the same.

As for that Batman radio show, (which I've never heard of but now I have to find - thank you!) it sounds dreadful!

I don't know what else to say other than I hope for both our sake's, as fans of the characters and of the medium that the next Superman film is excellent. If you don't enjoy it then find your nearest comic shop and I'll bet you can find a Superman story in their you'll enjoy.

But if you're going to do 90 minutes with this idea, you have to take it somewhere.
