That recreation of the original intro (the last video in the post) reminds me of how the first South Park game recreated the show’s intro with its own in-engine graphics, except without the love that this one seems to have had.

That’s one of those rare times where a song’s performance in a video is far, far better than any official “music video” could’ve been, though I don’t think Bauhaus ever made an official video for BLD. The big example I can think of is the use of Frankie Goes to Hollywood’s “Relax” in “Body Double.”
He can have my star. </Gimli>
I really need to check those -- and other new shows -- out on Peacock. I’ve spent most of my time just rewatching old Columbo and Murder She Wrote episodes as background noise while working from home.
Listening to Dowd extol the virtues of “Malignant” as I walked home just made me really, really sad that it’s not on HBO Max anymore. I could really go for that third act again.
Why would you listen to ‘Monster Mash’ at Halloween? That’s a Valentine’s Day song.
I wonder if Dowd is trying to manipulate the results by using a thumbnail with one of the worst versions of Michael Myers’ mask.
Befitting the topic of the podcast, I was having trouble finding it until I realized it was on Audible.
Every day’s great — but today’s kind of sad — at your Junes.
SNL should just bring in Julee Cruise and The Spanic Boys for old time’s sake.
Very good point(s)!
Are you saying “boo” or “boo-urns”?
With the change in Peter’s father, I hope you can press X to J’son.
SSSV is really good. While it’s not a clone of their earlier Lemmings series, you can really see DMA’s puzzle DNA in it.
All the love I see in these comments for Chinatown Wars has done my heart good.
The games’ site explains that the games have been remastered by Grove Street Games, the same Florida studio that ported the original versions across to mobile.
Thanks for this! While I appreciate the downtempo version, the normal version is such a wonderfully bulletproof song when done by someone with even the slightest bit of talent.
Listening to the downtempo version now and feeling like I should be watching a video game reveal trailer.
Isn’t “Kwisatz Haderach” Kevin Spacey’s character from The Usual Suspects?
After pouring one out for Victor Goddamn Sullivan’s mustache, I have to confess to being pleasantly...not irritated by this trailer. Sure, I’ll go see it.
