Luke Cage is one of my favorite characters as well specifically because he helped break the cycle of racism that my father was trying to pass down to me. Between having Luke Cage, Richard Pryor, and Jim Kelly as some of my heroes growing up I could never see people of other races like my father did.

I liked her in the series when I first watched it, but now that I’m older and have a young daughter to watch the series with I absolutely love her. She is flawed but strong and does her best to work through her short comings and my daughter idolizes her. I really wish DC would bring this version back somehow.
