The problem is that Veidt pretty much IS Batman so who would come out on top is really kind of up in the air. If they were both in the same universe chances are neither of them could pull something this big with the other around so it would end up a draw.

See, this is just justification. Poor behavior is poor behavior it doesn’t matter what your social class is. Just because a poor behavior is more understandable because a person is marginalized doesn’t give that person a pass in poor behavior.
