Did you stay? I would have been freaked out and bolted. That reads like an invitation for them to do whatever they want with no responsibility to me.

Also, it was super awesome other tables filled out those cards. I had no idea my other tables did that until I got called into the manager's office to read them. I really appreciated it and always vowed to do the same if I ever see a table act that way. It really did take a little of the sting out of a bad experience.
It sucks that it warms my heart so much to see management standing up for employees. Towards the end of my service career, I was working for small businesses that did watch out for you, but I started at chains that didn't care how you were treated, just do everything in your power to avoid a corporate complaint. And…
Agreed. And, like you said, they shouldn't be encouraged to make fun of the other team for any reason.
I never said I agreed with what they were doing, just that I don't necessarily think religion was the point. I played sports my whole life. I never had a coach that wouldn't have flipped out on an epic level if we'd have done anything even remotely close to this. I was just responding to the overall treatment of this…
Been both. Raised Catholic, adult atheist and I agree. Way more fear for being the latter. I'm not sure why. I'm respectful of everyone's beliefs, but I know I can't expect that same sort of respect for mine.
Do you really believe that no one on that team is a Christian or even Catholic? They're mocking them because it's a victory over a private school. It's more of a class/privilege thing. That's why it's Barbie....
For real. Also, aside from the very obvious (to everyone who isn't a neo-Nazi and apparently a prince) reasons why dressing up as a Nazi is a stupid and horrible thing to do, there is another thing that bothers be about this: Has he not heard of the Blitz?! Buckingham Palace was hit on several occasions. His…
Ugh, yes! Is this maybe the only thing he could think to do when his grandmother told him to get a brain and stop embarrassing the family?
Me too! Same grade.
This is why I can't watch any college sport. I just keep thinking about how they're just kids and that poor kid who missed the catch is going back to his dorm room all sad and embarrassed. I get sad about it no matter who wins.... the weird thing is that I really disliked most of the people who played sports when I…
Do they not have P.O. Boxes there? Make the criminal pay for one if he wants to send letters. Since he's the one that wants it, he should have to pay for a safe way to make that happen.
Yep. This happens to me, too. I've tried really calmly (almost in a bored, offhand way) saying, "well, I'm not racist, so it really doesn't bother me." This one woman almost fell out her chair. She was SHOCKED and started backtracking immediately. ("I'm not racist!!! I just think....") They're used to people only…
Sadly, no. But he will always be Jimmy to me.
The drag queen story is glorious. I hope they spent the rest of their stay tipping generously and looking over their shoulder in fear that the server may pop up again.
I know it's mentioned all the time, but I don't understand why this isn't getting through. Literally ever single person alive needed maternity care. This is not a woman's issue. If you are alive, you probably received some sort of maternity care. It's a common sense, universal thing. These guys who think they have…
I know! We had a hot soup regular at a place I worked. The owner told me to microwave it until it boiled. That's how she wanted it. I used to get so nervous thinking that we're something to happen, I would have a very hard time explaining why I gave a 90 year old woman boiling soup. Nothing ever did, though and she…
Who the hell looks out the window of their workplace, sees a group of people talking, and thinks pounding on the window and shouting is an appropriate thing to do? Let's put aside the fact that this was just a guy talking to his wife's friends. It is never okay to do that, even if it is a pan handler. That is just not…
I met Nick Nolte at one of the premieres for a movie he was in. It was a terrible movie and it was followed by a Q&A with the director and Nick Nolte. I was there because I was in a film class and our professor got us tickets. I think it was being filmed. The chairs were on these little ramps so they leaned…
That's amazing! Paul Newman was the best. He filmed a movie in my hometown (sadly, before I was born) and people still talk about what a great guy he was.
