When I detailed cars at a dealership, I would combine the ozone generator overnight treatment with a small can of paint thinner left open in the cupholder. It seemed to have a modest increase in effectiveness.

I am not a chemist, but have taken some chem, and perhaps the increased concentration of acetone in the air

We used to use these when I was in sales. Never found them particularly effective, myself, especially when dealing with smoked-in vehicles. At best, they’d simply hide the scent for 24 hours or so, and then it would come back with a vengeance.

We haven’t seemed to have good  luck with the Ozone machines here at my work. What we’ve been using is Biocide Systems. It’s pricey but seems to work well. We don’t do many vehicles but if we had to do a lot often, then the ozone would probably be the best way to go.

I posted this back in the Hertz Smoking post, I happen to own an Ozone Generator and it’s great, but my posts are still pretty relevant:

Conversely, leave out a few small pots with standing water, and poison the water so it kills the eggs!  There are a couple different solutions, but a thin layer of cooking oil on top of the water should kill all the eggs... or some dish soap in the water will break the surface tension and when they try to land on the

The 86 has become a bit of a cheap “halo” car for Toyota and the production costs are also spread across Subaru. Plus, the CEO Akio Toyoda wants to keep making enthusiast stuff even though it moves small volumes. That’s why we have the Lexus LC, RC, Yaris GR etc. So, I could see some plausibility to the rumour.

However,

You could say the same thing about a Prius, whereas the CT200h passes as a just fine entry level Lexus.

LC500*. It’s a great handling but porky GT car. A luxury 86 with even more updated power would be very welcome.

I like to go the direct route. Before any cookout I hire a crop duster to spray down my backyard with DDT.

No one graduated from school thinking science was static or permanent. In general, however, the names of places aren’t determined by science. Scientists are welcome to learn that the waters around Antarctica share some important characteristics, and can helpfully be evaluated together for some purposes. I’m not sure

Separating oceans has always felt weirder to me than even the borders of countries. It’s like the imaginary line in the back seat to keep the kids from fighting. What are the criteria? Can you commit a crime in one ocean and flee to another to escape capture? Are there bouys with signs letting you know when you’re

The president passed a new bill to eliminate mosquitoes IN YOUR NEIGHBORHOOD! SEE IF YOU QUALIFY!

Next I’ll be hearing about how ‘thing two will blow my mind.’

But they CAN’T stop you!

Mosquitoes HATE this one trick!

Article: ‘here are two things backed by science.’

That’s an old thought, but was found to be ineffective.

Truth. Fans and DEET are the only things that work.
Mosquitoes and all other biting bugs (fleas, black flies....) LOVE me. They love me to the point that in my childhood, a pest control professional was tasked with following me around my daycare to find the hidden nest of whatever was eating me up. (There wasn’t one.)
