Reggie and Saturo Iwata were the face of nintendo for me for so many years. With Iwata’s passing i felt like the Japanese face of nintendo died, and with Reggie leaving its the actual end of a chapter for me in that now the “western” face of nintendo is also gone.
How is this a good value for these other companies? Are they getting a cut of the profits? I don’t understand the business at all. Why would Japan’s top publishers agree to stand in as Nintendo’s labor for major releases?
I don’t know any general details, but you have to assume that money is changing hands, otherwise it makes no sense.
