It’s not a concern for re-entry, I agree. It is a concern when it comes to the exponentially-increasing debris field, especially when it gets hit and blows up in to even more debris.

3/4 of accidents, according to a bicycle lawyer whose job it is to make it the car’s fault as often as possible: https://www.bikeattorney.com/bike-accident-common-causes.html

Unfortunately it’s like speaking out against your boss: You’d better be damned sure of your exit strategy before you do, because the consequences will suck if you’re unprepared.

We have that here in my province. It’s great, people don’t give a damn about jaywalking directly in front of you, because they’re the pedestrian, they have the right-of-way.

That probably has something to do with the fact that almost 3/4 of accidents with bikes don’t involve a moving car or truck at all. Focusing on the helmet saves a lot more than guardrails on trucks. And this is still ignoring the fact that getting beaned off the side of the truck without a helmet is still going to end

It doesn’t really matter what you or I think, it is already happening, it is already an issue. NASA and the ESA are both recommending we take things out of space, rather than Musk’s suggestion of “keep cramming unnecessary crap up there and accelerate the process even more”.

Agreed entirely: I don’t care what the a-hole is driving, get it ticketed so they’ll knock it off.

Apparently not enough for some reasons. Make it even straighter and 30% more forward.

Pfft, would you want to be the one handing muscular individual who commits violence for a living, their termination letter? =P

The rate of impacts in low and medium orbit is already increasing, we’re very literally in the start of Kessler Syndrome. You’d have to be a complete fool not to recognize the risk in adding even more possible collisions (And resulting debris) in to the mix.

We have these neat things called fibre optics. We could run lines to remote areas a hell of a lot cheaper than launching satellites and hoping they run smoothly.

That’s not even what I’m worried about.

Febreze dissipates with time; Smoking smell does not.

Yes, that will forever blow my mind. Your country went from owning muskets as being part of a “well-organized militia” meant to prevent a counter-attack from the English, to apparently having access to basically every gun, with no training or organization, and against no invading force.

As the 22nd most dangerous job in the US, it sits at 4.1 times as dangerous as the national average.

Sounds like the exact opposite of me. I’ll go out of my way to help folks, and especially people who I see routinely. If you send me a negative review though, our working relationship is done. After all: Why come back to me if you truly think I’m a bad business?

I had to calmly explain this to someone who asked why I wasn’t negotiating off of MSRP on a bike last week.

I do have a bit of money these days, as I’ve been having a good year at work, you’re right. I sure as hell don’t have time mind you, I have exactly one day off per week, and I’m on 10 hour days if things go quick, 12 if they don’t. And I’m normally not a big earner either, this year is a weird exception for me.

Oh heck no, tons of places are down from their high. Most of the Lower Mainland and the Kootenays are (slightly) cooler now than they were. I think the only place I know of that appreciated in heat was the Fraser Valley.

Eh, there’s enough local businesses around for me that I don’t have to support the Amazons and Walmarts of the world. There’s a small town green grocer, a fishmonger, a baker, a butcher and a dairy farmer nearby. Hell, there’s even a local energy drink company. About the only thing I ever have to get from a big
