Nobody has convincingly argued that stadiums aren’t a good thing for a place like Detroit, where the goal is just transferring spending from the suburbs, and the alternative isn’t other construction, it’s nothing. Detroit is maybe just now starting to move past that, but only just.

The plan isn’t just for a stadium. People coming and going from an apartment high rise leads to a lot more foot traffic than people parking their cars in a lot from 9-5 then leaving.
