THIS is the reason why flying cars will never be the norm. If your car breaks down, you pull over and call a tow truck. If your flying car breaks down, you could take out an elementary school class, not to mention almost certain death for you. Just like helicopters or PJs, only the very wealthy would be able to…
I just don’t think a noise coming out of a speaker will elicit the same response as an actual mechanical machine exploding gasoline and moving pistons. I think having a speaker simulating exhaust would cheapen the whole experience.
While flipping through the New York Time’s archives I read an article from 1908 that Ford contemplated adapting the Model T to drop fake horse shit all over the street to ease early adopter’s minds.
Everyone that complains about auto shop rates, and yearly safety inspections, will immediately drop dead when they see what a Part 145 or MRO shop will charge them for their annual inspection or a repair.
A built in bed scale? What about the time-honored tradition of having someone crouch by the leaf springs saying “Little more, little more, little more, STOP!”
When you said Pontiac V8 I was picturing a 455 or a 400. An LS is a V8 from a Pontiac, not a Pontiac V8.
GMC anybody? they are exactly the same as the Chevy’s but with a $1-5k markup and a slightly less hideous grille.
This is not the greatest badge engineering in the world, no
Blaming SUVs and crossovers for police procedures and culture being generally toxic and dangerous to civilians is a real stretch. The vehicles in question are not massive like a Hummer EV or anything.
Exactly. I mean it’s not like there’s been warnings or anything for a week. This thing came out of the blue! Nobody saw it coming.
Here’s the one true car casualty that I was genuinely upset to see. That undercarriage is so clean!!!
did it though?
SMH, you obviously don’t understand any of this. What sets apart the Lightning from other EV trucks is that it looks like a gas truck whereas the rest of the EV trucks look like EV trucks. The Lightning is different because we specifically chose to be different from the already different trucks by being the same. See…
More than anything, the biggest change is how much higher the belt line is (scale is as close as I can get with MS Paint). It adds a ton of visual mass over older trucks.
The actual race cars looked about 1000x better. There is hardly a car made that can’t be fixed by lowering and adding wider wheels and better tires.
Unpopular opinion: Model S Plaid.
Wins. Most of it didn't even work.
Dodge Lil Red Express. One of the few (if not only) factory vehicles to come with semi-truck exhaust stacks!
Based on my engineering experience, I think there is a 98% chance it went something like this:
