Gee, if only GM had a large SUV type vehicle that basically printed money for them.

I should just find my previous posts and emails on this.

I see you’re one of those people that believe full self-drive is here and 99% ready, eh?

And who’s paying for all this infrastructure?

This is why I come to Jalopnik.com

I’m going to agree with you on the sports car thing.

Agreed. When I needed family car in 2006, I went and bought a Subaru. Never owned one before. It was totally weird under the hood - everything was in the “wrong place.” Then, after 8 years of owning it, I replaced it with another Subaru, because Subaru was now “familiar.”

Fun fact: Before 2006, I never owned a Subaru. In 2006, needed a family car, and I don’t believe in front wheel drive, so my options were limited. Ended up with a 2002 Legacy Wagon with a stick. Drove that for 8 years until it was wrecked in an accident. Replaced it with a 2008 Outback XT, partly because I had gone

The additional reason I’m not likely to buy a Tesla: the active stance the company takes with regard to DIY repairs, maintenance and modifications.

If you work on your own stuff, buying another one from the same brand can pay off.

I had a Subaru Legacy Car and it never did an unexpected system reboot while I was driving it, so I guess that is technically correct.

I’m cool with your decision. As I said, I’m a prime candidate for an EV. My electricity cost is about 13c/kWh. I have 240V service in my garage and my shop and dedicated 200A feeds for both (long story.) Most of my driving is about 25-30 miles/day.

Absolutely, “fuel/energy” costs for an EV are much much lower than a conventional gasoline powered car.

Unless your EV runs on unicorn farts, you’re still paying to operate it.

I like to fuck with people, because I have owned all of these at the same time:

hahahaha whoops yes G80 is the rear locking diff my bad.

This sounds so familiar. I wanted a GM truck with the “max-tow” package. I ended up just getting really good at scanning the ads looking for the tow mirrors, because every truck has a “tow package” but only the “max-tow” ones had the proper towing mirrors.

Chrylser has a VIN lookup online:

Is it a boat that you got really cheap and you just need to stick weld the hull back together to get a marine safety?

Since 2010, Volvo cars is a division of Geely, a Chinese company.
