Well, Chick got what he wanted. I thought he wanted to let Norman kill Caleb for him and that that's the way it was going to play out. I had to laugh when Chick stared into the space where Mother Norma was supposed to be. Maybe there won't be too many scenes where he is asked, "Didn't you hear her?" Otherwise,

I watched it again last year on cable.
Freddie Highmore said that before the start of filming of each season, he would watch the movie again.

He doesn't know what he's in for.
LOL

Okay, thanks!

Yeah he's a very young-looking actor, even when he was 15/16 on the Spiderwick Chronicles. He looked like 12 at the most.

I was thinking the same thing last night during his talk with Sam at the hotel. I keep thinking back to the first season and how sweet and innocent he was, and now that Norman is lost forever. What was that statement that the psychiatrist in the movie said? He is sometimes all Mother, sometimes part Norman and part

Norman's mannerisms this episode seems to be more like the Norma's. Freddie Highmore had said he studied Vera Farmiga's movements, so I tend to think it's intentional. Like the way Norma(n)/Mother Norma walked up to the bar to have a drink — there was a moment when Norman was talking to Sam Loomis/Mr. Davidson at

The horror level's not bad. It's more of a psychological thriller. It's a very well-written show.

Yeah, Norman had a blackout the day he ordered the luminol, same day that Blackwell was killed.

Thanks for the nice thoughts. I'm sure they are. I'm content with watching the cute dog with fluffy ears.

A couple of stray observations or questions I've been wondering about: what did Norman get the luminol for? I think his ordering it must have some significance. I first heard about luminol on Forensic Files. It's used for finding tiny amounts of blood. Maybe Norman uses it to find and get rid of all blood

It's kind of like a mirror image of that scene from the 1st season. I thought of Norman as horrified the first time he had to get rid of the body, and now it's like old hat and he'll be burying bodies left and right, highlighting how far he came in terms of descending into madness. It'll be interesting if they have

In the movie they had to sneak around because it was filmed in 1959/'60 and I presume it wasn't acceptable back then because they weren't married. In the episode last night, I don't really know who was sneaking with Sam into the motel room.

Yes the resemblance is striking, particularly from the back. I thought Norman was seeing things when I first saw her at the store.

That reminds me of the sequel movie where Norman Bates is afraid to raise a child and thus didn't want his gf to have a baby. I think that was the last sequel to Psycho. The gf believed in him, but we don't really know how that turned out.

There didn't seem to be much in terms of ads or promotion either for the first episode of the final season? I just happened to hear it would be February 20, and I'm so glad I did or else I would have been so bummed to miss the first episode!

I saw last night that they show Vera Farmiga in the opening credits first before Freddie Highmore. She's the star of the show!;

Juno's really cute. I can't be around dogs as I'm allergic, but Juno lightens up the scene.

Romero said "two more years. That's all I care about." What, two more years in prison? How many crimes is he in for. The DEA advised him of only one charge last season. I thought Romero would get out earlier than two years/two more years for good behavior (and not having a prior criminal record?) Oh well, he said

I don't think we got confirmation. But I know that Norman told Dylan towards the end of 4th season that he thinks it's best that they, the brothers, not contact each other anymore. That was after Dylan and Norma had a falling out of sorts.
