Holy cow, the opening scene (Fisk walking up to the prison intake desk) made me realize just how huge Vincent D'Onofrio is!

I definitely noticed her physique - my point is more that usually such attributes get cleavaged and skin-tite-ed beyond all reason, whereas here they started Alice off in frumpy sweaters and pilgrim-collared high-necks

maybe Alexa Davalos or Caroline Dhavernas? I don't know if they're actually of greek descent, but to my (un-expert) ear the names sounds like they fit

has the show been renewed for a 2nd season yet? and how many more episodes in this season?
cuz I could maybe see the show going for big blow-out

Agreed, about parents tending to create their opposites. Straight-laced boomer 50's results in flower-power 60's. Hippies result in Reaganite Young Republicans. etc etc

love your reviews & writing Donna, but a minor nit to pick - isn't the "walk and talk" a Sorkin (& Schlamme) thing? with John Wells coming late to that, after he took over West Wing?

only on this amazing show would we ever get to see the combo of Ohio high school choir diva, John Waters 60's Cinderella, and the Lady MacBeth of West Baltimore - love it!

Alice's sweater (during the parental visit) was performing some mightily impressive feats of architecture. Big contrast to pre-Quentin-relationship, where the show did everything in its power to hide her figure

Leaning towards Easter Egg. There's no reason in-show to specifically give the group a name (any name at all, as none of the group's back-story from the book has been filled-in), but it does signal to book readers that certain foxy debacles are coming down the pike

yep, easy to CGI, but still more expensive than no CGI

I think they went with the way that required the least amount of CGI, and just one easily re-purposable fountain set

can't remember (& too lazy to seach back) - has anyone called Kady being Asmodeus? I totally didn't see that one, but after-the-reveal it makes sense
