I think the books tried to be a more "realistic" presentation of magic and its surroundings & practitioners. Part of that includes the protagonist usually being a mopey self-involved jerk trying to figure out how to grow up. Which also unfortunately includes treating women in the same way that sex-obsessed hormonal

[mild non-specific spoiler alert?]

thanks a pantload, ganews, for passing along the pantload on the preview's behalf :-(

one of the proudest moments of my "hey girls are becoming less & less icky and starting to make me feel kinda funny inside" developmental stage was the golden day when Angie V. complimented me on my "Michael Chang thighs"

biggest 2 laughs for me - first the line from Deadly, and then the expression on Kermit's face (still amazes me just how much nuance & range the Hensonites can get from a hand inside of a bit of felt)

ahhh yes, I miss the classic Miss Piggy "Hi-Yah!!!" karate chop - has she done even a single one on this new show?

did Major call out "good nite Rita!" on purpose? He was just introduced to her as Gilda

I also don't think that in this universe zombies have to eat brains with every single meal - just that they can't go forever without a fix

love that they took the unexpected left turn there

all the likes in the galaxy for Mathesar!

Caroline is right - I'm just happy to have Craigy back on TV! & yes I'm hoping the show finds its groove soon, but I'll take whatever I can get for now

I think Major did the Shoot-&-Dump-Off-Bridge charade because he suspected he'd be watched. Then this episode DuClark confirms it when he threatens to off more of the anti-Rager trolls "…until you've sent Floyd Baracus to his watery grave - oh yes, we know…"

lookswise, show Alice (Olivia Dudley) = Reese Witherspoon in Cruel Intentions?

you are correct - do *not* google it on a work computer :-D
[btw, it's in the same ballpark as "santorum"]

To paraphrase Alan Sepinwall, I personally would rather discuss the show on its own merits, and not as an endless series of comparisons to the books…

seemed familiar but wasn't sure that was her, as she just doesn't look the same without her throat slit from ear to ear, and her demeanor has become quite, well, rude… ;-)
but yes it is lovely to see Ms. Abigail Hobbs again

as always, thank you Djse for the mp3 conversion - happy holidays to you & yours!

even if Keith plays the fake idol, it makes little sense for Jeremy change his vote. If it's real, then Spencer gets voted out no matter who Jeremy votes. If it's fake, then Keith goes home.
Even if he thinks that Wentworth & Keith are deceiving him and will actually vote for him instead of Spence, changing his vote

Also the gunshot-and-dive-behind-the-car-to-then-disappear is straight out of NCFOM

hadn't realized it until I first saw Honey, but apparently I've got a wealth of long-buried residual attraction-reactions to that oh-so-very-90's look ;-)
However, it does make me happy that the show makes sure to highlight the character's "intelligent, ambitious, funny, unafraid" qualities. In other words, making her
