Look at YouTube videos of people using cabinet scrapers and you’ll want one. They can be like having a super-sharp block plane in your hand. The trick is getting them to where you have a proper sharpening and honing. That I’ve only partially managed, and it’s not easy.

Sanding is, indeed, my most hated part of the woodworking process. I’m trying to get proficient with a cabinet scraper to save on sanding.
