I may be wrong, but I've always understood lump sum gets you more money in the end, tax-wise. But if you think you're the type of person who would blow millions right off the bat irresponsibly, you may be doing yourself a favor by doing the annuity.
Genius!
In a lot of states you HAVE to tell! But I agree, I'd keep it as quiet as humanly possible.
SNL writer Marika Sawyer is half Japanese (and really cool and funny, IMO), but yes, you are spot on in terms of performers.
When I was little, despite my weekly Hebrew school education telling me God was unknowable and not a person at all, I still pictured God as George Washington. What a patriotic little child I was!
Agreed. I hate that category, how it lumps series/mini-series/made-for-TV movies supporting actors/actresses all together. Space 'em out! Give the people what they want!
I'm pretty sure Hayden Panettiere was also nominated last year for Nashville. YAAAAAAAAAAAY TATIANA MASLANY!!!
I understand what you're saying, but the fact remains that your mythical "unknown" would have only become a success if people watched her. And yes, while there were many who tuned in because they loved the Sound of Music...more people than you'd like to think probably tuned in because of Carrie. It's a catch 22.
I'm confused - how was your idea of casting an unknown playing the long game, exactly? They are already going to cash in on soundtrack and DVD/Blu Ray sales from this. They were never going to start doing this type of thing 40 times a year. You think they give a shit that people are tweeting about Carrie Underwood…
Yeah...except when they do they exact same thing next year, probably with a new musical (maybe the same one, different cast). After the ratings they pulled in, this will become a yearly holiday special tradition. Trust me, they're gonna play the long game on this one, and probably do just fine.
My local drugstore has their own generic version that works like a charm.
Better or worse than the transition to the Nazi banquet singing hall or wherever the hell they went from their living room just now?
It always bothered me that they sing "How do you solve a problem like Maria" as she walks down the aisle. You're making fun of her during her own wedding, you bitches?!?
How much do I love that Kurt is busting out the soprano parts?
In my house we called "Climb Every Mountain" something else... "Can someone hit fast forward?"
Giiirl, Carrie you can't will those tears out of your face! Stop trying, you look like you're trying to take a shit!
My fav is when she mouths along silently with Julie Andrews during My Favorite Things.
I give her a lot of live singing credit - it can't be easy to jump up and down on a bed and still be hitting those high yodel notes.
