I don't know about Brooklyn, but my former employer was run almost entirely by Irish and Scotch, and I swear I still have no idea what my regional manager/CFO/etc  was saying half the time.  Regardless of it being face to face or over the phone.  And these were guys who had been in the states for at least 10-20 years.
