The VFX studio that won the Academy Award for Life of Pi had to shut down before they won the award too due to issues related to this very topic as well, I believe.

They should absolutely do it. They’re being treated as interchangeable cogs as their employers profit from ignoring labour laws. This is the problem collective bargaining is intended to fix.
I would argue that a prompt writer whose prompts are sufficiently specific and evocative to create wholly unique AI output (which doesn't exist, but let's ignore that for now) is actually writing a version of microprose fiction or poetry. Which is the actual art.
He must have fucked with rich people’s money. It’s one thing to fleece the poors, but once you steal from the investor class, the US will get you.
Good. Prequels are boring as hell. Take a chance, tell a new story.
I always have plan to replay all the FF games in a couple of years.
The coolest part is that while that entire pattern predictably comes to pass for a particular business, the people responsible for ruining said business gain money and simply move on to the next business they can ruin for their own profit (which welcomes them with open arms).
I love living in this stupid place at this stupid time, where absolutely everything follows the same reliable pattern of be good -> be forced to expand infinitely to meet a frankly psychotic ideal of eternal growth -> inevitably become shit, crash, and burn.
Capitalism is so fun and good and healthy.
I suspect that on the PS5 Returnal takes heavy advantage of the insanely fast storage and the GPU’s direct access to the SSD. While an NVMe SSD in a PC gets close, the SSD in the PS5 is still faster. To mimic the insanely fast SSD of the PS5 the game is loading more assets into RAM instead. The DirectStorage API in…
..depends on your motherboard and what you have, I have two slots with 16gb (8 and 8) , to upgrade it to 32 will cost around 120 euro (since I have to replace both dimms) , I know compared to say a new graphics card thats not huge , but its more than I’d usually have spare.
Oh man I can just picture a bunch of scumbag executive buzzards sitting in a dark room wringing their hands and trying to figure out some method of charging people for content that comes from their own imaginations.
I understand that these comments are intended for people whose main focus is ROI re: their investment into a particular company but it’s always gross to hear CEOs give voice to the idea that the only way for any company to move forward is unsustainable quarter after quarter growth and the path there requires resorting…
“silly idea executed well” is truly the best genre of videogames.
“They’re just making an approximated casserole out of human art that has been fed into it, in the vast amount of cases without credit or compensation”
Seriously, when humans create art they don’t literally layer a bunch of picture one on top of the others and start tracing over the bunch of them using smoothing tool to better blend their features.
I’ve come around. As an independent filmmaker and artist, who taught themselves enough to become a professional editor, I was definitely initially concerned. So much of what I see is a lot of folks who aren’t really creatively inclined, nor willing to put themselves through the process of learning, taking advantage of…
You know I could totally get behind this as a rough sketch system. Tell it a road winds off into the distance from the foreground vanishing at the horizon line 2/3's up the sheet.
Which is absolutely nothing like, you know, a surgeon who literally has to know exactly how the tool works and operates and be present during the process.
Put this with “Fleishman is in Trouble” and “Only Murders in the Building” as projects about banal rich people that I don’t care about. Every film or show is about wealthy white people more and more
