A chapter takes 3 to 5 minutes to read, double that for actual spoken dialogue and you should ideally get around 10 minutes of screentime out of it, so about half an episode. I wouldn’t have an issue with him trying to bury dialog naturally in a realistic sound mix if the dialog itself weren’t almost exclusively expositional, where missing a line or two is equivalent to removing cogs from a precisely-constructed machine.
