I remember the mini-Sephiroths using the stolen materia - off the top of my head, Lightning and Bahamut.
One thing that irks me about Remake is - SPOILERS - that we’ll probably never get another sequel in the original timeline. It would’ve been nice to have an entry where the characters are actualised after the arcs we’ve seen them go through; but it looks like we’ll never get to see, say, an older, well-adjusted Cloud.
It can be two things. “More” is relative, after all.

In 1999 the PS2 hadn’t even come out. Console games didn’t even get online patches until more than a generation after that.
