I’m just not feeling the same vibe. I know I’m in the minority. It’s beautiful to be sure, and production design is similar, but I just don’t get that same insanely detailed, messy, chaotic, destroyed vibe that the first one was rich with. This feels too clean.

But on the other hand, it’s Deakins, so I’ll just shut…

i mostly enjoyed the movie, but it felt pretty tiring they way they constantly had to cram a joke in every two minutes. No matter what the scene, what the action was like or what was being said, there was always the stop, wait a beat, and then “JOKES! SEE, THIS IS A LIGHTHEARTED MOVIE, GUYS!”. It drove me nuts.

Empire Strikes Back; Blade Runner; Alien; and Terminator 2: Judgement Day. That’s gotta be the Mt. Rushmore of sci-fi movies, right?
