This is the first time in a very long time (maybe two seasons) that I’ve felt a palpable nervousness during an episode. The encounter in Mereen between Danaerys and the Trio actually had me locked in place. John and Ramsay’s parley before the battle was also perfectly full of tension.

I feel it’s one of the most realistic battle seen in fantasy. LOTR, with more budget, doesn’t give the sense of hopelessness. Jon getting trumped, the crush, the blood, the mud. That was glorious. Nearly as cool as the Night KIng vs the free folks.
