Right. Watch any professional motorcycle racer and they manage to do it just fine. You can skip gears by just not releasing the clutch and poking the shifter again. It’s even easier if you have a bike that can rev match on downshifts.

So how do motorcycle riders do it at turn 1? I usually brake really hard and pull in the clutch while poking down 3 or so times on the shifter. Seems to work OK for me.
