Was it the car’s owner that cooked the brakes? I hope so because if it were a tech, I’d be pissed he sacrificed my brakes when his dyno is supposed to have emergency systems to stop the roller. Bunch of dummies in this one.

Do it. It’s a lot of fun and as long as you are in the right skill group, you can go whatever speed makes you comfortable. I’ve done a bunch of days and still hang out with the newbs because I like to focus on lines and body position rather than nailing it on the straights.

Yeah, it takes the world champion getting almost paralyzed or killed to get a short blurb about the pinnacle of motorcycle racing. Thank you for the article, but where were they for the rest of the year?

That’s completely different. Better analogy would have been any other racing that involves wheels, which Jalopnik also does not cover.

Yeah I was thinking that probably happened. While I know some people do this shit randomly, I doubt some old lady would do it without a perceived slight. Also the video and the story above were inconsistent. Something said he didn’t recognize the lady, but also the incident wasn’t random. Further, the guy was wearing

Wonder if this was a random act of vandalism or if there is more to the story. Cool feature though. Really would have helped out that one time someone backed into my car and there were no witnesses and no cameras.

So, like everything else Tesla says is an exaggeration. If what you say is correct, then releasing the button on your phone will not immediately stop the car. Fucking tesla. Every single time. It’s like you have to be a lawyer and an engineer to really understand what you can trust form them and what you can’t. I

I think that’s different because you are involving netflix in your action when you cue up a movie. Same with onstar unlocks. Conversely, the smart summon feature is likely locally run in the car’s systems, but the car is going out of its way to send data about you using it to tesla.

Maybe not top half, maybe top 75%? I know it’s easy to write off new ideas, but maybe try to see that things could be done differently. Maybe put on your thinking hat instead of idling along.

In my proposed scenario, the winner would get a prize. They would get more than the rest of the field, just not that much more than the last place person. Since there are 7 or 8 teams, 1st would get the most, second less, and so on until 4th or 5th, then 6th would get more than 5th, and so on until the last team gets

I think that’s what kills me. Housing costs are stupid here. I make good money, but jeez, landlords seem to too.

How much is your monthly car payment total? I’m thinking it’s more than my rent!

Also I think the prize money scale makes competing in F1 extremely difficult. There shouldn’t be a huge difference between the winner of the constructor’s championship and the last place team. I think prize money should decrease from the first place, but should start to increase again once you get past halfway down

I think it’s important to differentiate between Mercedes the F1 team and Daimler Mercedes. While Mercedes the F1 team ended up with a surplus, Daimler Mercedes still paid tens of millions of dollars to have their name on the team and car. Arguably they got a really good deal on advertisement, but Daimler did not

Had no idea it was that affordable.

Yeah, some. There are A LOT of new suburbans, escalades, Q7s, X5s, silverados, F150s etc. running around here though. A 5 year loan on a $50k truck is like $1000/mo. Even with a $20k trade in you’re still looking at $600/mo. That is A LOT of money.

Absolutely factual in my state. Yesterday we just had new taxes start.

I think that’s the case for engine and driveline workers, but chassis will likely remain about the same. EVs still need body panels and seats.

Ah yes. the YOLO effect.

Not surprised about first gear. Between rent, student loans, rising taxes, and the cost of every thing else, who can afford a $25k-$30k brand new car? Even a nice used car is stretching it in my experience.
