My first thought? Neither possible actor were even conceived when this show started.

Indiana Jones and the AARP vs the Veterans’ Administration Hospital Billing Office.

Indiana Jones in “oh fuck why did I drink from the Holy Grail and am forever denied the sweet release of Death”

Red Tornado has a grand daughter? Is/was he not a robot? Or did they retcon that away?

Supernatweens.

Harrison Ford is too old to play Indy.  If they’re going to do more Indy content they need to recast it and do it as a younger Indy.

It also fits with real life because Rick Moranis essentially retired from acting because his wife died.  He’s done a few projects in the year since, most recently a cameo on The Goldbergs, but he decided to dedicate himself mostly to raising their kids.

Sorry Kathleen, no one wants Indy 5 at this point.

The actress that played her passed away from cancer and Rick Moranis lost his wife (it’s why he retired from acting). These things happen in real life. These thing can certainly happen in movies.

Could it be because the actual actress is no longer alive? Don’t know.

George Hall played a 93-year-old Indiana Jones in bookend segments on the Young Indiana Jones Chronicles.

If that’s the case, that makes sense.

It looks like they’re using real life to write the initial plot, since Rick Moranis quit acting after his own wife died. If the project gets off the ground and they managed to coax him back, he’d essentially be playing himself mourning the loss of his fictional wife, the actress who is also dead.

I liked him better when he got a job as a journalist in our cyberpunk dystopia.

The actress who played the Mom in the Honey I Shrunk the Kids series, Marcia Strassman, passed away in 2014 of cancer. Personally I would rather they didn’t recast and this is a way of honoring her.

It is Disney after all. No one gets out with all their parents still alive.

I have absolutely nothing in common with internet fandom because I, like a huge portion of the audience, watched those speeches and felt moved. Cheesey? Maybe, but they moved me regardless.

Going*, not good.

I was wondering about that too. Considering she looks more like her sisters than they do, that would rock.

I feel like an animated gif of Loki saying “I am going to burn this place to the ground” is good to come in handy in the future.
