I starred this because, while I have bookcases filled to the brim, I rarely invite people into my house and, when I have on occasion invited someone over, literally no one has ever even glanced at my shelves, let alone commented on the books there, so I’m definitely not keeping the books around to impress people.

Let me guess - she’s also one of those designers who wraps people’s books in gift wrap to make them more “fun”?

I starred this because I LOL’ed, but I don’t think of fastidious and pedantic as synonyms.

You missed out on the best of the new films if you skipped Rogue One.

I’m in the same boat. No way would I try to play, but these kinds of epic stories that come out of it are amazing. (I recently Kickstarted the second volume of the Empires of Eve history book., having missed the first volume a couple years back.)

What logical pizza shop are you going to where they specify the size by diameter in inches?

To be fair, #7 has no connection with Florida!

An intermezzo of iniquity!

An aria of argle bargle!

Disney unfortunately shelved all their sci fi franchise reboot plans when they acquired the rights to Star Wars, because otherwise I’d be down for that.

Has anyone confirmed Peter O’Toole’s whereabouts at the time of the crime?

I’d probably need at least $5000 to seriously consider quitting Facebook for an entire year. It’s pretty much the exclusive way I communicate with friends and family who live outside my hometown and it’s a great way to get information on new product releases in a centralized place.

My girls are listening to the men sing about how they only want a woman who looks good and can cook, and there is no sense without context that those views are objectionable. I had to do some serious explaining on those.

The behavior is still stupid even if it’s easier to give in than to put up with harassment or if he promised to leave her alone after that (since, based on his past conduct, there would be no reason to believe giving in would stop the harassment or that he would honor such a promise).

I always thought “Hoosier” was a nickname for someone from Indiana and that “Indianan” was more proper? (Chrome spellcheck seems to bear this out in that it didn’t flag “Indianan” as being wrong when I typed it.)

You-TAWN, in my experience.

It’s not pretending to follow another religion to merely attend a service at a different religion’s house of worship....

Is it not considered insulting to attend the church services for a religion you don’t believe in while visiting a location whose community you aren’t a part of?

Voted by whom?

I’m in a similar boat — I’ve seen none of them, never heard of 16 of them before this list, and, of the nine I’d previously heard of, four of those I only know from seeing mentions of them by people in the context of year-end “Best Films” lists, so it’s more “meta-awareness” than actually knowing anything about them.
