Right, it’s the use of the Spanish dialogue that adds diversity. Omitting subtitles is basically telling the audience (or at least that part of the audience that doesn’t speak the foreign language at issue) that this is not for them.

Except, of course, that having foreign language dialogue without subtitles is also a well-known technique for alienating/isolating viewers who don’t speak the language.
