Except that even the BBC acknowledges that Doctor Who is one of its most valuable properties.

It isn’t. (If you go back and look at the comments when MOS came out, you’ll notice that nobody was calling MOS “Randian” at that time.) People just like to use that as a slur for anything Snyder works on ever since it became public (post-MOS) that Snyder is a fan of at least of some of Ayn Rand’s works.

The point of my post was simply to make a humorous reference to a current political figure that a lot of people treat as though she checks off the boxes in the original comment. I certainly don’t think we’re living in a dystopia nor am I likely to ever vote for AOC.

The Walkman (and presumably at least one of the two “Awesome Mix” tapes) got destroyed in GotG, vol. 2, so no tapes. But Tony could probably plug Starlord’s replacement Zune into his suit.

They divested themselves of Fleshbot years ago, pal.

Please cite where I said anything about us currently being in a dystopia....

Counterpoint: (1) Better villain than most Marvel films. (2) Better dialogue than most Marvel films. (3) I disagree about the special effects. (4) Plot holes are no worse than most other Marvel films.

Yeah, I would have liked some explanation for that myself. I know who Darkseid is in general, but I don’t get this specific reference.

It wasn’t even in the top 10 Marvel movies .

Yes, my take away from this line up of nominees is that apparently I’m not the only one who thought there was an above average rate of “suck” in new film releases.

I didn’t claim she was and I’m not a fan of hers. She just immediately leapt to mind when I read the original comment.

I’m not a fan of AOC.  It’s just who immediately came to mind when reading the original comment.

Yeah, I was really baffled by all the gushingly positive comments around here anytime something about the film was featured. I kept thinking, “Are these people seeing the same thing I am?  Because other than competently executed VFX, this looks terrible.

I am pretty sure we’ve been disabused of the idea they can be overthrown by one lower class rebel who is shout of heart and able of body who can become a rallying symbol for the downtrodden masses, all of whom are just waiting for a reason to believe in themselves.

Yeah, I’m rather surprised at the number of people around here who seem to be unaware of that fact.

My wife and I are some of those people who can’t tell a difference. I’ve experimented with toggling it off and on for my TV and I recognize something is happening only because I’m absolutely focused on trying to see it and even that may just be subconsciously prompted by the fact that I’m the one adjusting the setting.

Curse you “Featured Articles” ribbon!

Yes?  What’s wrong with that?

Except that by stepping off the ledge you would be taking your own life....
