This is actually worth buying, some real classics and rare gems.

With the buff to exploration payouts, it was actually quite rewarding in the terms of credits made.

To be fair, there’s a lot of similar games now like this, indie games with symbolic challenges and heartfelt stories, and it’s becoming less and less impactful as they pile on. No one will resonate with all of them, no doubt, and it is getting to the point where you sort of expect what’s coming down the line.

Summary of the article:

The devs delivered exactly what they promised and what there backers wanted, which is somehow a bad thing.

“Men are Trash” is toxic.
“This guy is trash” is not.

Good, none of this rules for thee but not for me shit. If some guy said all women are trash for whatever reason people would cheer if he lost his sponsorship. Flip the script, and suddenly it’s not fair? Not today.

Shame I can’t buy it on steam. Guess I’ll wait, hopefully I remember to pick it up in a year.

This is pretty much SOTN.

“[...]there’s very little to suggest that this is a game with much interest in subverting anything.”

Not only that, but they go on to say “oh there’s no controversy at all they already said the collection of twelve games are made by a diverse group but we’re going to include this here anyways cause we want that controversy!”

If the video game industry can’t sustain itself without inserting casinos into their games then it should fold and should crash. Fuck em.

My guess is they watched Anthem launch and then asked the devs how long it would take to put some content in their live service game. The answer was to delay indefinitely.

Not supporting a person who caused suffering to the grieving parents of a school shooting by implying that their kids really weren’t dead and they knew it is a perfectly acceptable hill to die on, I’d say. Same for her anti-trans nonsense, then you combine the two and it’s an ideal hill to die on.

I’ve heard of a bad take before, you this is really a bad take. You need to unfuck your priorities.

FromSoft are truly the best of the best in the industry when it comes to boss design, environmental storytelling, and thematic consistency.  Guardian Ape is a the perfect example to demonstrate how that is the case, this is a great article.

Fans didn’t say you could see your friends in the game and it would have multiplayer, among all the other missing features shown or talked about in interviews. That was all Sean.

That’s hardly what I’ve been saying. I’ve been saying that an easy mode harms the game from the perspective of the designers not the perspective of the players. (though reading back, the article itself details exact ways in which the easy mode would harm the game for players as well...)

If you quit a game over a font you probably need to get your priorities in order.

Yo, I used to rent this every time it was available to do so, it was really the best.

“People are willing to pay more to purchase on Steam for the goodwill that Steam has provided for years”

Goodwill like flooding their marketplace with shovelware, trading card exploiting drivel, and any old garbage broken unfinished games to make as much money as possible while making it harder to find good games drowni
