I'm not really surprised, to be honest. 12 Years a Slave (at least from reports of both American and non-American friends living abroad) isn't resonating with foreign audiences, for the same reason a movie like Rabbit-Proof Fence didn't get All the Accolades in America.

By all accounts, McConaughy blew the socks off everyone with the movie. It's also award bait - he lost an insane amount of weight for the role, and it's about a still-taboo topic. (Leto will likely continue winning awards for the same reason.)

I do actually still wonder how much not giving it much in the way of other awards is HFPA not getting slavery, to be honest.

Hmm. Good to know. Never been thrilled with how they demo their pieces (show me more of people wearing the clothes, less of the dress hung up on a white background), but maybe I'll give them a go - having a bitch of a time finding a dress for an upcoming event.

I think she's actually literally larger chested - as I recall (and it's an imperfect memory), she's got a discrepancy between band and cup size. Or does when she's properly fitted (and as we all know, that's about never).
