Really great review. I was surprised to hear the instant reaction to the ending being a variation of, "Don just need to scalp the next great idea. He scalped it from the hippies." Maybe but there's more his retreat experience than that. Don was surrounded by hippies, et al. He married an aspiring hippie. He never

I haven't watch SNL since the Palin Era but read the reviews. So I have a perception of how these shows go. Yesterday I watched for myself and laughed a lot. Woody Harrelson felt game to play ball in an earnestly understated way. Have fans gotten to the point where they're hate watching the show? One TV critique I

Best villain: Koba. That dude went gloriously apeshit.

Parenthood. People that watch Parenthood just get it. Easily one of the few ways I can connect with strangers in these disastrous times.

I watched a midnight showing of Almost Famous. In a 100 seat theater, three people showed up. Which is one of those wonderful times at the cinema where it's just yourself and the screen. A dude behind me called out, "Just as many people who watched in 2000." Really a shame. A special movie.

First guess: Wouldn't South Carolina be Hootie and the Blowfish?

For fans of 2000s Britpop, Keane's music went downhill when they went from the trio to foursome.

As a big Coldplay fan, I chuckle every time I hear from the "I enjoyed their first two albums" crowd. It's so predictable at this point. From the band's inception, their stated goal was "to bring passionate music to the mainstream". They sure didn't see themselves as an indie band nor care to be one. Viva la Vida and

I'm sure he'll do a fine job but why not Ang Lee? Look at his discrography. He's mastered romance, thrilling choreography, effective 3D use and dramatic characters. He would have been my choice.

I don't understand how American Idol is in "trouble". I can't see it's trajectory being very different from Survivor's. Both began as cultural powerhouses getting near 30M and then moved on to satisfy their actual fans. The numbers are lower but entirely respectable. Last season easily was the 2nd or 3rd best season

Slightly off topic. Glen Hansard is brilliant in concert. I've seen him twice. They might be the top2 concerts I've ever seen. I was expecting him to show up at the council meeting and just shut everybody up with his Irish wailing. that would have been an ending.

Oh, and I saw Life of Pi. Didn't read the book so I can't compare it to the source material. But for me, very beautiful experience.

Kenya Moore from the Real Housewives of Atlanta is the most unwatchable reality television personality on TV today and potentially ever. That a wannabe star hangs on the coattails of an achievement decades prior is not new, but her act is particularly irritating. I hate her.

Lucas is to Stars Wars what Zuckerberg is to Facebook. In more talented hands, both entities could be much, much stronger. Thankfully, Lucas got out of the way. Now, were Disney's the hands I was looking for? Not necessarily no….so I'm choosing to be excited about this.

I don't understand these reviews. Anyone can review any show they don't like and continue to confirm why they don't like it. If that's the intention, American Idol for sure is low hanging fruit. But there are fans that genuinely enjoy the show and this finale had a lot worth discussing.
