The National Anthem translated brilliantly.

The National Anthem translated brilliantly.

When White Hair picked up the picture of Emily and Daniel, I was sure he knew about a camera being connected to it. I was surprised Em and Nolan didn't catch that, which should have let them know that he knew he was being tracked in some way.

Wait. . .I'm curious as to how you'd rank their albums thus far? I love Kissing Families and Comeback Kid. But rarely does an EP have filler. The Fuzz and Booksmart Devil are not the band at their best. I found Neck of the Woods hookless and almost dull. And I think their live shows will definitely suffer touring on

I started watching Samantha Who on Netflix. I've hereby decided that I like Barry Watson. We need him back.

The firing of Aubrey and Lisa was Trump's last way to defend the honor of Dayana. Clay, easily, was the least deserving of the final four to advance.

I might have had a biased perception of what Glee's demographic is, but when the show launched my freshman year of college, my Facebook newsfeed was locked into Glee every Tuesday. So many shows now air on Thursday young people would watch (Community, The Office, now Glee) but it never feels like a great night to sit

The several times I've watched this show, I feel like I always enjoy the rerun episode more than the new episode. Yesterday's for sure.

Good review. I'll say, I find Joe and Quinn's relationship one of the few in this show's history that genuinely feels real. Their interest and chemistry in each other has physical and emotional dimensions. Much more so than Rachel and Finn's ever did. For that alone, the Glee Project winner should get some credit.

Love this band. Love their concerts. But didn't love Neck of the Woods.

Gladiator can't defend Joaquin Phoenix's character assaulting his sister in the movie. His mental illness and confusion could have been handled in a much more thoughtful way.

Kris Allen stayed on the show for the same reason Hollie is on the show. She's getting better. She's the Idol version of the New York Giants. Getting hot later beats a fast start any day.  Kris changed his game enough with "Ain't no sunshine" to "Heartless" to "Falling Slowly" from Once that a pretender convinced

Disagree strongly. You're ignoring Idol voting dynamics. Momentum late is more important than simply country singers getting votes from country fans. Skylar peaked a little too soon and Hollie had her best two weeks the last two episodes. This is the country of Jeremy Lin and Tim Tebow and Christine O'Donnell and,

Maybe its because because I just paid 1.29 to download Wild Ones, but I could see Hollie singing hooks on popular choruses like Sia. Her voice has enough bite to make it interesting contrasted with another artist. I like her.

I'm in a tiny, tiny minority that prefers these judges over the original Randy-Paula-Simon lineup. The satisfaction of seeing performers in the auditions or show cringe or embarrassed got played out for me. Viewers are smart enough to determine if a performances was strong or not, they don't need Simon or anyone to

John Mayer recorded a cover of Bold as Love on his album Continuum. I like it. Mayer is a fairly cocky son of a gun and so I think I associate the song with more swagger than Elise sang it with. But her confidence did seem higher than usual. Good night for her.

Okay, American Idol AVClub commenters. I'm not a fan of warped tour, ambiguous Christian rock songs, or upstaging one's sister. But Colton Dixon eclipses Elise in every category in judging a performer. Idol's main distinction from other talent competitions is that its contestants actually can have a post-show career.

True. But if Lauren Alaina can beat out the prettier, blonder contestant, Skylar can too.

Carrie Underwood, many moons ago, had a breakout rock performance on 80s night that was a game changer for her on the show. Let's see if Skylar had a similar moment with viewers. (Plus, whipping out the big guns, literally, should help.)

Maybe I'm alone here but this season of Idol is probably the least likely to predict in years. On another season, Skylar would be in the top 5 by default. Usually, the Christian vote can carry you into the top 4. Not here. Every week, a new front runner emerges. I can make a case for Colton, Jessica, or Phil winning.
