I’m with you, but we have to realize that there are two kinds of fans here: those like us who want a deep dive into MK lore...and those who want nothing more than to see Toxie the Toxic Avenger do a fatality on Howard the Duck.

I get that you want to understand Gita’s situation better, but the problem with a response like this is that whenever a minority speaks about societal judgement or inequality, people are always going to come out of the woodwork to say: “Oh yeah? I don’t believe you. You’re exaggerating. I never got treated that way. Pr

Yeah, it’s pretty surprising how hard this game can be. I never would have thought I’d be grinding this much in an Ultimate Alliance game just to keep up with the recommended level in the easiest difficulty. Partially my fault for cycling between heroes, but what’s the point of having all of these cool characters if

Not to mention that no longer playing a game is a fairly effective way to communicate to developers of “live service” games that what they’re doing is not okay. Most of these games track concurrent players and player growth over time and use that as a measure of success, so if people just put the game down after a

“My face is tired.

My feelings about the series have been bittersweet. The first game represented some of my most beloved gaming memories because I played it with my siblings, bonding over our shared love of Disney -- with my own mild geek-out over the Final Fantasy cameos.

Kingdom Hearts II was, unfortunately, a different story. We

I think it’s a Nomura thing. He writes like a teenage boy that discovers a new “cool” idea like time travel or cloning or computer simulation every few months, then instead of writing a new story containing his latest favorite “cool” idea, he just crams every bit of it into Kingdom Hearts, retconning where necessary

What are the chances of another level cap boost soon? I’m a bit further into it (Level 66 and just now exploring Sparta), but I’m afraid I’m going face a similar problem when I hit that level 70 cap with more than 1/3 of the game left plus the remaining expansion quests.

Did you spend time playing as Alexios as well for the sake of comparison? I’m torn on which protagonist to play. I wanted to play as Kassandra since Alexios seems to be yet another cookie-cutter, scruffily handsome male protagonist, but something about the voice acting and character animation in the Kassandra promo

ReCore just came out for Steam, as did the latest Zoo Tycoon. Last year we saw Killer Instinct and Halo Wars (Halo on Steam was a surprise) and before that Quantum Break. Seems Microsoft is still letting their exclusives onto the platform, just very, very slowly and well after they hit the Windows Store.

Any chance we’ll see Schreier chime in with his take on Dragon Quest XI? Between Tim’s playful and typically optimistic review style and Jason’s more critical take on the genre’s current flaws I often find my own opinion falling somewhere in between. Wish you two could do your own “JRPG Talk” podcast.

I’d argue a step further and say it’s not even Square Enix in general, it’s 100% Tetsuya Nomura in all his “6th grade Live Journal writing level” glory.

Any speculation on whether Doom Eternal’s PC release will be on Steam, or will it be exclusive to Bethesda.net like Fallout 76?

All of my GI Joes were stored in my aunt’s attic after we moved. Seven years of Georgia heat later, I went to retrieve them only to discover that the rubber bands holding their top half to their bottom half had melted. So I had a bag full of disembodied torsos and legs.

This is especially meaningful to me because it was another jump rope minigame that broke my own compulsive need for completionism in video games.

As someone who’s burned out on Metroidvanias and Roguelikes, does Dead Cells do anything to revitalize or shake up the formula? It looks great, I’m just afraid of buying the game only to feel the same fatigue (I’m ashamed to say I couldn’t even finish Hollow Knight).

Man, I wish they would tweak the way Resistance Points work. It’s far, far too easy to miss missions because you gained too much RP just by exploring. You still get the rewards, the missions just auto-complete without you, complete with any cutscenes you missed out on. Missing out on story content because you explored

Kingdom Hearts has always felt like it was written by a 13 year old fanfic author.

Garbage like this makes me feel a little bit better about waiting for the PC version.

American southeast checking in. It’s not doing so great here, either.
