I just learned about this and it has flushed my enthusiasm down the drain. One of the reasons I play open world games is because I hate missables and prefer exploring at my own pace. Learning you’re locked out of content in this game because you explored too much is a kick to the nuts.

Unfortunately my late 30's have been all about moving the couch closer to the TV so I can see everything..

I adore games like Witcher and AC: Origins that actually give you a suggested level for content. That way I can explore around while having some idea whether or not an area/quest/enemy will kick my butt or give me overpowered rewards for my level.

Curious because I don’t want to look it up and spoil myself too much: What do power moons actually do other than allow you to go to the next level? Once you have enough for that, what use do the extra collected moons have? I’m assuming there’s something post-game to trade them for?

....And then bitcoin mining happened, and gamers are back to being unable to afford the parts to build their own PCs.

I would love to see this become an industry standard. Why use Cheat Engine when I can make my character as powerful or handicapped as I want to in game?

Hollow Knight devs have already confirmed via tweet that they will not be part of Nintendo’s showcase, but will be sharing some details themselves later this week.

Currently it seems to exist solely so that my conservative uncle and my liberal uncle can yell obscenities back and forth at one another and tell the “sheeple” to wake up while sharing fake news articles.

Switch is weird because as someone whose primary hobby is gaming, I do already have all of these games they’re porting on other platforms (Steam, mostly), but taking a peek inside more Nintendo-centric communities like the Switch sub on Reddit I’m seeing people weeping for joy over getting Okami and Crash Bandicoot.

I’m predicting more of a Smash 4.8. It’ll have a lot of new bells and whistles to solidify it as THE Switch Smash (for now) rather than a simple port, but framework-wise it’ll still be a port. There just hasn’t been enough time for an all-new, ground-up Smash since the last one, though I’m prepared to be wrong about

I think you’ve hit the nail on the head. They’ll want it to appear as “new” as possible so they can please the Switch-owning smash crowd, but there just hasn’t been enough development time for an all-new, ground-up Smash sequel.

Is Call of Duty on its way out the door as a major industry player? Seems that the kids who used to scream into the mic in this franchise are now screaming into the mic in battle royale games and other FPS sub-genres that Call of Duty used to reign supreme over.

Seems like we’ve entered the age where CoD is “your

I’m genuinely curious: What biological privilege would make men better at video games?

Is this a Windows Store exclusive on PC?

Random chance loot boxes have made their way to the physical world.

“Welcome to our 45-minute presentation of the next ‘Detroit: Become Human’ DLC expansion! Which character will YOU choose to take inappropriately long showers with?”

As an Atlantan during the 96 olympics I remember groaning at the original name of “Whatizit” but felt better after they shortened it to Izzy. As for his look, I never felt he looked any dumber than any other mascot, sperm-associations aside. Izzy, god bless his poor weird soul, got a bad rap.

Mega Man, is that you?

Uematsu’s score and Amano’s artwork were the two most defining feature’s of Final Fantasy’s tone back in the day. Amano’s ethereal style brought what would otherwise be vague tiny pixel people to life. His work always felt “fantasy” in a way later character designers never did. No offence to Nomura. They’re just

Need more time to make those loot boxes more appealing.
