One thing that concerns me is that the different voice actors will break immersion for me going from the movie to the game. If you want the whole story you have to see both, but suddenly important characters sound completely different?

That’s bad world-building for the sake of big-budget marketing, and it makes me sad.

Apocalypse is my favorite supervillain and Nightcrawler is my favorite superhero. I’m sad that the only time I’ll likely see them together on the big screen is in a movie that sounds as if it may be mildly entertaining at best and a complete dumpster fire at worst.

I think you vastly underestimate how many of us gamers are dirt poor.

But I like Jumping Flash....

Xenoblade Chronicles X is the only game that ALMOST got me to shell out for a Wii U. I’d kill for that game on PC. Did upgrade my 3ds to the New 3ds for the Xenoblade port, but that’s also a system I play Fire Emblem and Bravely Default on. Wii U just has nothing else I want, and no single game, no matter how good,

NX is Nintendo’s last chance in the home console space. They’ll remain comfortable in handhelds, mobile apps and toys, but if they want to remain relevant in the home console market NX HAS to succeed and it has to succeed big.

Nintendo knows this painfully well, which is why I think NX will be launching not only with

A peek inside the minds of the mass market consumers who did not buy a Wii U.

But a person’s views mold what they consider “a good original story,” and that includes social views. Your perfect narrative will be different from mine because our views and experiences are different. That’s the nature of creativity. The nature of art. It’s about expressing something from the emotional and mental

Between the combat, the embarrassingly bad framerate and the terrible camera, I do have to say my excitement diminished quite a bit with this demo.

Fingers crossed for day-and-date PC version, but I’m aware that there’s probably a better chance of moogles flying out of my butt.

Ken looks like a dirtbike-riding pot dealer I used to know.

Jumping/falling deaths are the only deaths that have truly felt “cheap” for me in the series. The mechanics just aren’t built for platforming, so being presented with a narrow ledge or series of jumps always soured the experience for me.

I agree on all fronts, but what saved Zestiria for me was the interplay between characters. I don’t find myself relating to JRPG characters that much these days, but something about the way these characters talked to one another felt like a real group of friends. Ghosty magic friends, but friends nonetheless.

So it’s not just me. I’m only through Birthright and heading onto Conquest, but so far I’m not finding myself invested in any of the characters. Shame, because Awakening was great for that.

You may want to look into the downsides of matching most characters with a male Corrin. I’ve heard doing so removes a female “match” from the dating pool, and since there are only as many female matches as there are males, Corrin stealing one means you lose out on a child character for that playthrough. UNLESS...you

I continue to be impressed by how great Rise of the Tomb Raider looks and runs on my decent-but-not-great gaming rig.

Maybe. I was mostly just thinking about Sony not wanting to adjust their price point until they see how the VR attach rate shakes out. But now that we’re hearing about a possible PS4.5 being released in the near future, all bets are off.

Final Fantasy VI. I can’t even count how many playthroughs I’ve had over the years. Some of the gameplay mechanics have shown their cracks with age (Rage system = barf) but the characters still resonate with me so deeply that I can’t stay away.
