I’m with you. I’ve been diehard BR fan since I saw the DC in theaters when I was like 14, but I think 2049 is possibly a better film.

Starred for “so many more stories to tell”
I think you’d be surprised how much energy is required to move a car at freeway speeds for multiple hours.
There is a very friendly and polite man in Glasgow, Scotland with whom I share a name and a similar email address. We have had opportunity to correspond on a handful of occasions when I have received an important message (real estate contract or car repair estimate) intended for him. This is an opportunity for a pen…
Whereever there is an RV, I want to be 5-20 miles further down the road the RV can not traverse.
Ok, this has always driven me crazy because it’s super weird but no one ever talks about it: There is no gender-neutral singular for this animal. There are “cattle”, “cows” and “bulls”, but there is no “Catt”. It’s like not having a word for “chicken”. Sheep is close, but that serves as a singular in a way that cattle…
I want my retro future where Skylabs were still orbiting when the Shuttle came online and the Saturn VII got us to Mars in 1988.
I love watching car companies slowly increase the size of a model until they look around and realize they’re missing a model where one of their models used to be and so they come out with a new model that occupies the same place in the lineup as one of there current models did a decade or two before. Cracks me up…
“I feel I’m not being very articulate about this” is my go-to, especially with my spouse.
Huh. That winter description maybe just turned me off. Getting away from the dreary inversion months is one of the main things making me want to get out, and as you say, at least I can get above it when I absolutely have to. I appreciate your insight, and good luck to you as well. If you find that Colorado unicorn,…
This was definitely within 40 minutes of Manhattan. I’m curious, how do you like Spokane? It’s on my list of places I’ve never actually been but think about hypothetically moving to someday because I could come out considerably ahead on my house sale.
SLC here, and yes. I lived in NYC once upon a time and a friend took me to “the country” for a “hike” once. He told me we were done and and it was time to turn back. I thought we were still looking for the trailhead.
Whenever this topic comes up in the comments, you can tell who is commenting from the East coast and who is commenting from out West. City-dwelling Westerners are much more likely to get they’re tires dusty on the weekend and see the value in something small to do that while also parking in the condo garage.
Every generation needs its Brat or Baja.
I really like Sour Skittles, but my mother withheld affection from me. Coincidence?
Good for you, seriously. Acknowledging our own mistakes to our children, especially when they’re the one’s who have been wronged, is just as important in modeling good behavior as doing it right to begin with.
“Thank you so much for brushing your teeth, that’s a big help in getting to bed with enough time to read stories. Tomorrow night, do you think you can work on doing it the first time I ask so we have any more time for stories? I really enjoy that time together and I know you do to, but I need your help to get there.”
I have a soft spot for John Carter. I’m in the “Disney messed up a good thing with bad marketing” camp on that one. It wasn’t perfect, but it was fun and it was ambitious. And as an indicator of Chabon’s strength as telling an epic story with an emotional human core, I think it bodes well for Picard.
I am so so so very tired of this asshole.
I have an acquaintance with the last name of Haas who created a personal signature cocktail he calls the “Hass-Style”. It consists of a warm shot of gin and a slap in the face.
