I am ashamed to admit it, but I used to be one of these grammar police. I’m further ashamed that I voiced those concerns to a very close friend of mine when they came out to me as non-binary. I am very grateful that they were patient but firm with me and I didn’t lose that very dear friend as a result.

I’ll just stick with a jynnan tonnyx, thanks.

I made this switch with my 5-year-old, especially with sensitive “grown-up” subjects like religion and homelessness, and it has led to some interesting explorations. Highly recommend.

Well, we’re certainly not any good at funding it. Or choosing projects based on what the next generation needs instead of what the current billionaires want. One thing I do know is that we didn’t attain our place as the de facto leader of nations through self-fulfilling defeatism and knee-jerk cynicism.

Most of the comments are treating the jobs issue in a myopic, single-industry way: will the auto workers find new jobs in the auto industry? But the economy is an ecosystem, and dips in one industry can and will be offset by demand in others. That’s the point of the Green New Deal. Solar panels and wind turbines will

Agreed. They had history, which is why they each knew enough about the other to be worried about their presence.

This stuff is all pretty clearly delineated by Screen Writer’s Guild rules.

Damn. I’m shopping for Tacomas in the wrong part of the country. I guess I need to incorporate a cross-country jaunt into my search.

Agreed. That was very odd. I’ve read that response a few times and it makes no sense.

I see a lot of Leaf drivers without headlights on at twilight. People don’t understand physics. The amount of energy that it takes to illuminate headlights for a 30 minute drive wouldn’t get the car out of the driveway.

Splitting hairs, but Zootopia is a Disney Animation movie, not Pixar.

Gosh if only there were a political outlet in this network that hadn’t been shut down in recent weeks leaving a clear home for this kind of content.

Wasn’t made correctly, or the feedback had been so consistent that it should have come with a warning when it was ordered “So you know, a lot of people have been surprised by how sweet that drink is. Do you like a sweet cocktail? No? Then allow me to recommend X.” If the bartender hadn’t accurately guessed the problem

Not gout, but I also had a few red flags pop up in my 30s that I was drinking too much and generally needed to take better care of myself. It’s a hard message to hear and take seriously. Good on you for doing what you need to do to be around for the long haul for your family.

Whenever I have a moment of hope that this nightmare is coming to a close, I having the jarring realization that I’m going to be hearing about that asshole for the rest of my life. He’s a fly stuck in America’s car at the beginning of a long roadtrip and he’s not going to go out that cracked window easily.

The LeBron James example reminds me of a kid I went to elementary school with. Around 1990, he (an white kid) dressed as his hero, a local (black) NBA star for Halloween. He had the licensed jersey, the official sponsored shoes, the team color tube socks, everything. He also had black face and body paint. Even thirty

ATK is the cookbook that taught me to actually cook, from a theoretical place, rather than simply follow recipes. Thanks to them I can whip up a pan sauce with what I have around, and for that I will always be grateful.

Do you live at high altitude by any chance?

I have always defined “car camping” as “driving to a place where you will camp adjacent to your vehicle” not as “sleeping in your vehicle when you camp”. This is to differentiate it from backpacking or bikepacking or river tripping or, I guess, horse packing. Am I crazy here?

Correct me if I’m wrong, the difference is that VW was actually selling value. They were playing on the ASSUMPTION of being a lemon, not an actual objective reputation. The ad was targeting people who were perceived themselves as too smart to fall for the assumption that low price meant low quality and vice-versa.
