AS I CROSS THE MACON COUNTY LINE
AS I CROSS THE MACON COUNTY LINE
I’ve seen other celebrities do this. Not really sure what the purpose is; can’t people already kind-of interact with celebrities via twitter and instagram? What’s the difference if it’s over text-that-isn’t-actually-text?
Definitely, and he seems content in doing so. I just wonder how long that will last, or if he’ll be able to find a happy medium between weirdness/general accessibility.
He’s done crazy projects and become a pretty good actor in the process. I’m wondering when he’ll get a vehicle that’s mainstream enough for that to be more widely recognized.
He has some redeeming qualities! But he can definitely suck.
The punching instinct is because my dad is politically intolerant and kind of a misogynist.
I watched Little Women, which I thoroughly enjoyed. Having never seen a previous adaptation or read the book, the story still felt remarkably fresh to me. I loved the ending and, now having read up more on Alcott and previous adaptations, seems all the more genius to me. I get why some may have problems with it—which…
The kiss itself I didn’t find that funny, it was more like a “Wait, what?” moment, where the film finally tipped over from trying to hide the fact that it was pure fanservice to just openly coming out and saying “Yes, all logic is gone; the ‘fans’ are all that matters.”
Yeah, instead of getting to see her in a role where she can actually do something, she’s in the movie just long enough for me to say “Hey, it’s Jodie Comer! I wish she didn’t have such a stupid role.”
Zorii and Jannah do not make any choices. They are entirely static characters who appear in the story only to assist main characters. The conflicts that they assist in are tertiary to the story, at best.
I never called anyone an incel, nor did I say TLJ is a perfect movie. I just said a lot of the criticisms of TLJ were sexist.
Palpatine talks about how the force can create life while watching some very weirdly sexual imagery (looks kind of like sperm floating around in an egg). It’s not a far-fetched interpretation.
If you remove Jannah—whose name I had to look up—and Poe’s old friend who never shows her face, the story is exactly the same. Neither make any choices that have any kind of impact on the plot.
A hell of a lot of the criticisms of Rose and Holdo were very, very sexist. Also TLJ has two more active female characters than TFA and TROTS: Rose and Holdo. All of the others just have Rey and Leia. I guess TROTS tried to introduce a couple of new characters but they were completely inessential to the plot.
This is why people like the Mandalorian: It brings in some of the nostalgia by taking place in the same universe, but still crafts its own thing.
The prequel trilogy implies Palpatine raped Anakin’s mother and is actually his father. Could be something similar to that.
Really wanted to see the Beths this year, but they didn’t pass through my city. Debated flying out somewhere to see them. Their debut album is fantastic and would be an absolute joy to see performed live.
No idea what you’re talking about, but I can tell something odd is afoot with these comments.
You are either fighting way too hard here for a point that everyone agrees with (some people, on some occasions, have used their sexuality to get what they want) or are fighting way too hard here to defend the indefensible (that the stereotype that female journalists sleep with sources is realistic).
A lot of great albums have been nominated here, but the first one that jumped to my mind was Hospice by The Antlers.
