Ha! That’s the damn truth. At least tomorrow is hump day
Right, they are not shiftable though. they use a series of clutch or gear limited slips or utilize brakes to do this. 4x4 systems are generally very “dumb” even the automatic systems only sense wheel speed and engage like a light switch. some of the smarter awd systems can engage to varying degrees.
Correction, most new cars have AWD, which is FWD 99.9% of the time and when slippage occurs the rear(s) get power.
Ferrari is bringing back the gated shifter*!!!
This is why populations decline. We reach a level of prosperity where all the handbrakes disappear, girls stop being impressed with sweet handbrake turns, and pretty soon we go extinct as a species.
Dont’ wait on it. Do yourself a favor and buy a nice BRZ / GT86 with light upgrades. Budget for a turbo / supercharger unit and build it up. You’ll still spend much less than buying a base model Supra (when it comes out) and you’ll have a perfect purist car (the ToyoBaru twins only lack in power).
“While we know that a manual gives you more joy when driving,” Tada said, it’s just not that simple. The engine has a high torque output, and getting a manual to deal with that means having a heavier shift quality, which Tada doesn’t want.
If I see someone who’s not a cop out with a radar gun I’m gonna see how high a score I can get.
I have a very old, carbureted, manual transmission Toyota with well over 200,000 miles. However valid your argument may be, it doesn’t resonate with me.
yeah, i hear ya. Youre older than me but i got my license in 1987. Its been a bit. i recognize and appreciate that modern cars are much, much, safer than the ones i grew up with. But the proliferation of tech for techs sake doesnt necessarily help safety, just makes things super complicated and expensive.
I dont need fancy tech other than ABS and airbags.
CARBURETORS AND STICK SHIFTS.
“Car repossessions are major bummers, and they happen all too often in a climate where auto dealerships prey on the financially vulnerable.”
I hated it at first but it has grown on me like the curse in Princess Mononoke; one day it will kill me, but for now it only gives me incredible and frightening strength to defeat my enemies.
I am genuinely impressed at how the Japanese automakers have made their regular ass sedan nameplates actually kind of interesting. Between this, the Mazda6 and the new Accord, these are pretty damn nice cars now.
