I also drove this thing for the first time in my life this summer. Got out of it “meh”. Drove off in a Miata.

You’re an idiot. If it was something potentially life-saving like that you bet your ass i’d be sure to make a mental note about it. It’s not like it’s a 10-step sequence. Just a simple “Ok that’s where the release lever is.” Literally takes 30 seconds.

Please don’t ask her if it was her SO's selection.  Please.

But it’s not a handle. The first time you use it, you realize it’s different. It’s an obvious electronic button, inside and out. The back up release is right inside the door on the floor, hard to miss.

But it’s not a handle, even the outside is a button. You know the minute you use it that it’s electronic. They are electronic for a good reason as well- these car are coupes without door window frames. When you hit the button it drops the window slightly. That allows it to raise sightly and seal when you close it.

You don’t even have to research, that’s the sad part. It’s right by the sill, right inside the door. It’s hard to miss.

That looks like it tastes like ass.

I love how if you google image search “Ferrari guy” this dude and Doug Demuro are the 2 top results.

Be the change you want to see. Change your username to $gaycog.

That’s a silly argument. This isn’t something you need to memorize. If you get stuck in your car because the electronic door release fails, and you spend 14 hours not remembering that there is a latch right by your seat... come on, dude. This isn’t like learning how to write SQL and then not using it for 5 years... it

You don’t understand. There is NO HANDLE in this car. It’s just a button. I could understand if it was a regular handle, but it isn’t. It’s a button. It's VERY obvious.

If you can’t tell the difference between a mechanical pull handle, and a button, that’s kind of scary. It’s not like they were the same mechanism that acted differently behind the scenes.

Do you also think push start cars are dumb because you need to read the manual to know where to hold the key to start the car if the fob battery dies?

I’m fine with just using mechanical door handles, but then again I’m a simpleton (and a mechanical engineer, who prefers mechanical things whenever possible). That said, that location for a manual release is incredibly intuitive. The issue is this poor sap apparently had no idea a manual release (heh) was even a

Who fucking knows man. Boomers know no limits when it comes to ignoring what’s right in front of them.

Plus, how did he not stumble across it while looking for the hood release latch?

Holy shit it’s literally a handle with red paint and a picture depicting an exit from the car. This does not leave a lot of room for misunderstanding.

It boggles my mind that there are people who buy cars with electrical release mechanisms for the doors, and don’t IMMEDIATELY do research to locate the mechanical fail-safe, which even the dumbest of common sense would tell you existed SOMEWHERE.

It boggles my mind even more that people refuse to read the manual for

I agree on the Explorers. Fuck the fucking motherfuckers who fucking buy those fucking fuckers. The Vics, we buy cause they’re a cheap way to get into a V8 car. That’s it.
