Seriously, that “childishness” is the reason Mazda has so many fans to begin with. A little frog-looking roadster that’s way faster and more fun than it ought to be, a sports car powered by a dorito, a turbo hatchback with a giant grin and a hood scoop.....

That is a great idea. I was lucky enough to drive a whole bunch of Maseratis for a previous job, and while they look and sound amazing, the build quality just doesn’t match. Cars that were just a few years old would have rattles and squeaks, the Dodge-scourced buttons looked cheap, and I had the shifter fall right off

I laughed at “I got in with no issues but I drifted a alot!” I’ve taken my E30 out a few times on snow with all seasons, and it’s almost impossible to go >5mph and not be sideways.

Next up: BR-Z Diamond Edition! Improved suspension, upgraded tires, big wing, neon fender trim...and 5 more HP.

I agree with Creed, motorcycles are the best cars.

Basically, a turbocharger is two separate turbines (one for intake and one for exhaust) connected by a shaft. When you step on the gas, more exhaust starts to flow through the exhaust turbine, causing it to spin faster. The connecting shaft makes the intake turbine spin at the same rate, and the faster it spins, the

^ That is a throttle body, aka the valve in your air intake that limits the air coming in. When you step on the gas, the valve opens, and the suction from the pistons pulls in more air. Sensors in the intake detect this, tell the ECU to squirt in more fuel to match, and you get bigger booms.

Understeer - your front wheels lost traction, and the car won’t turn fast enough.

Gotcha. You’d have to ask the owner where they came from, but personally I like the look. Reminds me of the little flares on non-M E30s (and other old BMWs), just more aggressive.

Not sure if you don’t like flares in general or these in particular, but the “why” is because you can fit wider wheels and tires without excessive camber.

Someone correct me if I’m wrong, but I think Honda V4s have gear-driven camshafts. The gears are straight-cut, so you get the same whine as a race transmission or a car in reverse. Sounds similar to electric motor whine.

I learned to drive stick on a green 2-door, that thing was slow as fuck but surprisingly fun.

They might not be as practical as some, but they’re more practical than a coupe, convertible, motorcycle, or bicycle. And sometimes it’s nice to have an enclosed trunk.

Reminds me of a James Bond intro.

Nice! They really are fun, and that hatch even makes them kind of practical.

I didn’t get (or want) to beat on customer cars either, but some of the locations that involved some actual driving were great for getting at least part of the experience. I’m a fan of just about any BMW car with a manual, E39s included. The 135iS was the one that stuck with me.

Yep! I had fun working there, but that company is a shitshow. Or they were several years ago, at least.
