Nothing I've seen suggests they're any better than 3/1 against. Even if it is a coin flip, I don't think Donovan's presence on the bench does much to swing that in their favor.
The World Cup roster isn't a lifetime achievement award, and if you consider the odds against the US getting out of the group phase, it makes sense to look beyond the Landon Donovan era since he won't be there in 2018 for sure.
