we really need to include both the Vader scene at the end of Rogue One that for the first time really shows what Vader can do.

“Is-a no big-a deal, you know?”
Just because you’ve never seen old sword masters doing back flips...
The fight from the The Last Jedi is beautifully shot and choreographed, but it would rank a lot lower for me because the stakes feel so much lower - it’s exciting, for sure, but on an emotional level, it’s much less compelling than even Ben v. Darth in Star Wars. For a similar reason, I’d probably rank the Darth Maul…
You haven’t seen the movie since 1999 and are upset about the rankings?
This was filmed in Rome and there was no exploitation. It was brief and tasteful.
“Prompted by a new California law that temporarily suspended the statute of limitations on sexual abuse claims,”
I’m sorry this is just … odd. I mean, yes standards have obviously changed over time, as evidenced by the fact that all us Gen Xers on here watched this in 9th grade English. (My teacher, a white Christian lady, preemptively admonished us to grow up and not giggle, this was Zeffirelli and Shakespeare for crying out…
Even if it violates California law I wonder what implications that would have, particularly for a foreign movie like this one.
How are you gonna see him in Dune part Two if you not watching reboots?
How about post fewer slideshows?
I don’t even get why the joke was anything to get upset about?
I never liked Will Smith before, and I like him even less now. His love of himself just radiates out of him like stink lines in a comic strip, even Tom Cruise reigns in his ego more than Will Smith does.
Anybody who believed that Villanelle would or should have survived is just being silly. The only real question was would Eve survive? Villanelle surviving would have broken every rule of drama and basic morality. Not every gay death is “bury your gays” and quite frankly the attempt to make it so is getting beyond…
Oh, yeah. She was just ground down by the humiliation of it. Shattered. If Smith hadn’t done what he did, nobody would even remember the fucking joke. It would have been one of 2,000 blips of ho-hum for the night.
How do we feel about it now? On the internet? The place where opinions aren’t changed they get double-downed upon regardless if it makes sense or not...
I’m disappointed that he’s been banned for a decade. Imagine the tension at the next ceremony whenever the camera would have cut to or panned over to him. That would’ve been good TV.
re: Killing Eve “...that also somehow succumbed to the “bury your gays” trope.”
Did you skip the headline as well? 😂
Not every time a gay character dies is it a “bury your gays” trope. The character in question was a murdering sociopath. She absolutely deserved her fate, however poorly executed it was in the final episode.
